In 1992, Edward Lewis founded a band in a local Methodist Church with the aim of providing a gathering place for young people to play music. Over time, the membership of the band has transformed into a diverse group, consisting of community members, band directors, retired and practicing musicians, as well as young musicians who share a love for playing music. Our extensive music library boasts over 2000 selections, ensuring a wide range of musical experiences that make participating in our group highly rewarding.
The band actively performs throughout Volusia County, entertaining audiences at retirement centers, nursing homes, churches, and special events. If you have a special event in mind, feel free to contact us to schedule a performance.
Our repertoire encompasses a variety of genres, including patriotic pieces, marches, contemporary band arrangements, Broadway tunes, and selected classical music. Currently, we have approximately 30 members, and we warmly encourage any individuals who enjoy playing music to join our band.
Daytona Beach Concert Band strives to provide quality entertainment that will accentuate the intrinsic joy of music in all members and audiences.
